Performer

Madelaine has been dancing professionally for 15 seasons, receiving her first professional contract at age 17 with Metropolitan Classical Ballet under the direction of current Bolshoi Ballet Master Alexander Vetrov, and Balanchine protege Paul Mejia.  She continued her professional career joining Madison Ballet where she spent four seasons. Madelaine returned to Dallas in 2012 and became a founding member of Avant Chamber Ballet where she still performs today.

Balanchine’s Valse Fantasie, Walpurgisnacht, Concerto Barocco, Square Dance, and The Four Temperaments.

La Bayadere, Paquita, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Raymonda, Carmen, Appalachian Spring, Alice in Wonderland, and many more classical and contemporary works including US and world premieres.

 

Training+Education

Madelaine began her classical ballet training growing up in rural Arkansas at both the academies of Ballet Arkansas and Ballet Memphis.  She continued her academic and ballet studies at The Rock School in Philadelphia where she was a part of RAPA, their year round pre-professional training program.  She spent summers training at The Rock School, American Repertory Ballet, and Kaatsbaan International Dance Center in New York.

Notable teachers include Alexei Moskalenko, Dennis Poole, Bo and Stephanie Spassoff, Natasha Barr, Natalya Zieger, Eva Szabo, Jeffrey Gribler, Yelena Borisova, Olga Kostritsky, Bonnie Mathis, Martine van Hamel, Yvonne Patterson, Christopher Flemming, Maqui Manosa, Kim Abel, and Mel Tomlinson.

 

Teacher

Madelaine began her teaching career in 2008 at the School of Madison Ballet and also contributed to their Movement In Your World outreach program where she regularly taught over 1000 students each year in the Dane County Headstart Program and in Madison Public Schools and Libraries.  Since 2012 she has taught at multiple schools in the DFW region. She most recently served as Assistant Artistic Director of the student based Plano Metropolitan Ballet.

Madelaine also takes tremendous pride in her students’ accomplishments. Many have gone on to professional careers in companies such as Los Angeles Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, BODYTRAFFIC, and also have chosen to pursue degrees in dance at esteemed programs like Southern Methodist University, Butler University, University of Oklahoma, and Fordham University.  

 

Choreographer

Since 2012 Madelaine has worked as the primary choreographer for the student based Plano Metropolitan Ballet. In 2019 she was named Associate Artistic Director. There she contributed to multiple full length productions and choreographed and assisted in curating the annual Plano Dance Festival. Under her guidance and leadership Plano Metropolitan Ballet was named in Best of Plano Magazine as the “Best Way to Get Artsy” for 2017, 2018, and 2019.
